Sunday

Feeling great today~ Although the "chemo Cloud' is hanging over my head..............Wednesday. I am determined to enjoy every second of these days prior to the "Drip"......... Susan, Luka, Maggie, JO, Hobbs & I went for a fantastic walk down at Hendry's this morning. Great low tide! tons of shells, rocks, lobster shells, scallop shells, mussel shells, Sea Stars (or, star fish), thousands of every breed of dog, & , of course, other people, enjoying our foggy morning! It was great to see Brenda, Lisa (& Brophy, nola, & Mason ~ their Golden retrievers) also enjoying a beach walk. They are here visiting for the weekend from Phoenix. We used to work together when I first became a Labor & Delivery nurse~ We have remained good friends ever since! We shall enjoy their company ,later, in the garden, & for dinner. We also bumped into other great folks~ hugs & well wishes were passed all around! After our walk, Susan lovingly helped dry brush & massage my head~ getting the last of my old hairs out. My head is now White fuzz.
Yesterday susan & I enjoyed a nice day in our garden. Reading, gardening, & looking at recipes to make for dinner with all the incredible produce that has been so nicely delivered , courtesy of the "Baby Buds'~ A group of families that met in my Childbirth Class a few years back. What an amzing group of people they are! We wound up making a Salad Nicoise with fresh organic blue potatoes, fresh green beans, nicoise olives, fresh hard boiled eggs, Italian Belly tuna, Capers, heirloom tomatoes & a yummy shallot dressing. We also had a roasted (& cooled) beet & cucumber salad with a fresh dill & yogurt dressing. And, lastly, heirloom tomatoes with burrata cheese, & avocado on top drizzled with olive oil (from Italy) & fig balsamic vinegar. So good to eat all this fantastic food!
Friday, Susan & I enjoyed a lovely day in the Valley. We bought sandwiches from Los Olivos Grocery & had a picnic near Beckman winery. Susan wound up having a tasting from there (as I enjoyed my sparkling water) We bumped into Mike Masson & his wife. He taught Physiology (way back when) before nursing school. What great stories they tell! We then enjoyed a wonderful dinner with Brenda & Lisa at Tupelo Junction. You can't beat the Fried Chicken Salad!
Rosalie is immersed in her life in India. She has good days & "homesick" days, but overall she is having the time of her life! Her blog is an amazing read! http://the195.com/author/rsangenitto/ (feel free to copy & paste this link)
