Finally, a little "get away"

It is Tuesday evening & I realized I have not posted anything for awhile. So, here is a little update on my life. As you may recall I received two new (for me) Chemo meds for my last infusion~ Taxol & Carboplatin. The nausea was much better (way less!) AND, I experienced some new & different side effects. Spine, neck & skull pain, AND extreme lethargy. I literally could not get out of bed on day #3 & #4. But, by Saturday evening I was able to go to a friends to enjoy a bit of "Fiesta". Yummy food & good friends. I spent a great deal of time on Maggie & JO's sofa cuddling with Lamar & luke (the new adorable kittens)
That sunday we were invited to celebrate & honor Barbara's birthday at Lindsay's home. Again, amazing food~ Mediterranean theme~ And, wonderful company. The evening ended with a rowdy & fun filled game of Left, Right, Center! Such fun!!!
Saw three great movies; 500 Days of summer, The Hurt Locker (my personal favorite), & Julie & Julia. I love going to a matinee!
The Wellness Program (via the Cancer Center) at the Athletic Club ended last week~ what a marvelous program & great trainers! Yesterday I joined Spectrum so that I can continue to stay "fit" during this time of chemo & healing.
This was our last week of the wonderful gift from the "Baby Buds"~ Fresh organic produce from "Plow to Porch". We have so enjoyed our "gift box" & all the wonderful treats! Today I made the Zucchini quiche (Plow to Porch recipe) So delicious! And, a salad of Burrata, heirloom tomatoes, & avocado.
Last night the Jacobs' brought an Asian inspired meal of Wild Salmon with ginger, an amazing fried rice, broccoli, & an apple crostata. So delicious!
This week we also celebrated & honored our dear friend, Anna. It is a very special landmark birthday for her today! I love you Anna! Happy Birthday!
Thursday Susan & I are off to Seattle & Bainbridge Island to visit Lucy & Harry. They "gifted" us this trip so that we can enjoy the Northwest & a change of scenery. What an amazing gift! Thank you Lucy & Harry!
