If you're going through hell, keep going (Winston Churchill)

Well......... I made it through the first week. It was, for the most part, as others (who have gone before me) have described. The Day of Chemo I was pretty wired from the Decadron & anti emetics that were given, both IV & orally. The next day wasn't bad either. By late Thursday night/ Friday morning I was feeling like I had Morning Sickness (BUT! worse!) My dear friend, Jill, came by with her Matzo Ball soup! I had a couple of bowl fulls throughout the day... & slept off & on Until Saturday late morning. Jill's Matzo Ball soup is truly the VERY BEST! So healing & soothing. (I promised Barry that I wouldn't share this fact, but it is the TRUTH!)
By Saturday afternoon I was feeling more like me. Although I have to say that the constant queasy feeling & "reflux" feeling can be tiresome. Enjoyed a nice dinner with friends~ & slept some more.
Sunday we enjoyed our time in the garden & the "healing cottage". So nice to spend quality time with Lindsay, who also shares this journey with me. She relunctantly has passed me the 'baton". Her spirit & her energy is so reassuring. Thank you Lindsay for sharing this "Time' with me (us!)
We were blessed with visits from Kat (Her sweet smile & amazing sense of humor is a blessing!),OH~ & did I mention her coconut cupcakes?! Chris & her calm demeanor is always welcome, (& fab cookies!) Carola, & her lust for life is contagious, Gera, whose sweet spirit is so easy to be around (Anytime!), & Ali~ another 'sister' on this 'journey'. Thank you for your support, love & delicious food! And, Susan, who tirelessly supports me in every way possible! Thank you for being my Rock!
And, YES! The Lakers winning was icing on the cake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Hi Syd,

your friends in Arizona are thinking of you & Susan everyday. We remember lemon drops & bras hanging from the ceiling fan!! We'd love to try some of Kat's cupcakes :)

Decadron can be a blessing & a curse - your mind wants to wash all the windows in the house but your body says no, no, no.

Please feel our hugs & kisses - for both of you!
    love,
    Lisa & Brenda
    and all our furry kids!
