Hello All!
It was suggested to me that a Blog is an easy way to share information with friends & family, as well as an opportunity for me to "journal". So........... here I go...........
This journey actually began last week when I felt something "suspicious" in my right breast. I went to the "Breast Doctor"~ Judy Dean, a month early, for a visit. After a series of many mammograms, Full Breast Ultrasounds, & a core needle biopsy I waited the weekend for my results. I was informed, on Monday, May 18th that I have Invasive Ductal Carcinoma.
WOW! Me?! Pretty Shocking , to say the least! I was scheduled for an MRI the next morning, a meeting with Kim Grafton, the surgeon, then on to the lab for blood drawn, chest x-ray, & EKG. Oh, and, the MRI revealed another possible lump (same breast) & a suspicious lymph node.
So, today, I will have another Core needle biopsy. Oh Joy!
Interestingly, I found this out 2 days ago & 9 friends have emailed/called me who are on this same journey (at various stages)! I must have been somewhat blind not to see the magnitude of this disease. Amazing!
I , myself, feel pretty good , so far. I dc'd all hormones ( stopped using and/or applying) taking herbs, flower essences (thanks laurie!) & have the most tremendous amount of love & support.
I will update this post, PRN, Thank you ALL for being there! It means so much!!!!!!!! Hugs to all, Sydney
